My BD-P1400 arrived past due the day before today! The firmware was updated last night through internet download and burning a CD. First impressions:
Video – !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Audio – !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FYI: There isn’t any photograph or sound great distinction, or another type of difference, inside the USA Region A model of the multi-vicinity Region A and B model of the Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player.
I have tried an ordinary DVD and one BRD to date and am very pleased. Load times
finish are very desirably. There are no negatives from me in this unit to this point. I Will report
later when I get some of the extra reputedly elaborate BRDs.
The BD-P1400 has a classic Samsung style. The front of the unit is smooth black, with a thin strip of silver and the lowest.
Got my Samsung BD-P1400 closing night time, and the boy became excited!! Before this evaluation, permit me to start by saying that this is the primary and handiest Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player that I have owned and that I won’t make a number of the comparisons you’re looking for. If I do not, just let me recognize! I must also mention that I have NOT upgraded to the brand new firmware, but my modem isn’t near a TV.
Picture
Excellent, duh…… Inky blacks, high-quality contrast, elements, the whole lot you count on from Blu
Design: Wonderful looking BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player, the excellent yet. The face could be very open, not cluttered, and the piano finishes rocks. It’s far away, too.
Load Times Wonderful. I even have 5 movies to date, and they all loaded in approx. 15 seconds. Then there has been the new F4 Silver Surfer… This is a BD+ identity from Fox; many have complained about its load time. The BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player gave me no problem, and the multi-area version from Planet Omni may be even more excellent. Again, Let me say that it is properly out of the field, with no firmware replacement, but!
FYI: There is no photo or sound fine distinction or another type of distinction inside the USA Region A model of the multi-region Region A and B model of the Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player.
Sound
I even have not played with the sound lots as I don’t have my Onkyo TX-SR705 yet. I did a word that there may be an option to set the audio system from small to huge in analog five—1 out mode. Different discussions and reports of humans getting full DTS-MA bitstream from this BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player (after firmware upgrade) on other threads and boards. I’m getting trepiduous to do this!
Others
The relaxation of the staff is quite well known. For example, 128x max ahead, the unit resumes identical function inside the movie even after being powered off, quite top response instances from remote keys, and so forth.
All in all, that is a dynamite BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player. With the firmware upgrade, this guy will do pretty much something you could assume from a blue-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player right now!!
In addition to Blu-ray discs, the Samsung BD-P1400 can play trendy-definition DVDs and CDs.
FYI: There is no image or sound excellent difference, or every other form of difference, within the USA Region A model of the multi-location Region A and B model of the Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player.
The BD-PBD-P1400’s excessive-resolution soundtrack support is outstanding. It has onboard deciphering for Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD High Resolution, which means it can output these soundtracks in PCM format over HDMI or analog outputs. The BD-P1400 additionally offers bitstream output for more recent receivers for excessive-decision soundtracks. So if you have a more recent receiver with onboard Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, you could set the BD-P1400 to output audio over HDMI in encoded bitstream layout–letting your receiver do the interpreting, as opposed to the BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player.
There ought to be no sound first-class distinction whether or not you allow the receiver to decode or the BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player to solve, but a few AV fans love seeing the “Dolby TrueHD” light on their new receiver. If you need a Code loose Converting DVD Disc Player for $seventy-nine.95 Planet Omni additionally has that, and they arrive with 2 warranties. So, some distance, I am genuinely glad about this buy. I changed into not certain I made the proper deal because of the terrible critiques I studied but offered it.
I honestly don’t know why humans get dissatisfied when it takes two minutes to get ready to play. I have used it numerous times with Blu-Ray disks rented from Netflix with no troubles. I am nevertheless expecting the eight unfastened films.
Connectivity is also strong. There’s an HDMI output capable of carrying each 1080p video alert and excessive-decision audio.
There is a component video output (constrained to 1080i), an S-Video output, and a composite output for general-def output. (As with all DVD BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Players, there’s no DVD upscaling available through factor video). The HDMI above production is on the audio facet, alongside five: 1-channel analog outputs, each optical and coaxial digital audio output, and stereo analog outputs.
Rounding out the connectivity is an Ethernet port, which permits you to upgrade the firmware from the Internet–a feature that’s been not unusual to HD DVD Players; however, it is very uncommon among Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Players.
FYI: There isn’t any great photo or sound credit inside the USA Region A version of the multi-region Region A and B versions of the Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player.
The BD-P1400 did an awesome task of rendering the outlet series of Star Trek: Insurrection, demonstrating its 2:3 pull-down process. Next up, it changed into Seabiscuit, and the BD-P1400 did a stable activity with the hard introduction, with few to no jaggies at the black and white snapshots.
DOJ,
Just a quick update on the Samy BD-P1400. I have rented a few BRs from Netflix and have been enjoying the BD-P1400 – how about you? All the techno mumbo jumbo apart, as far as I’m involved, this is a tremendous BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player.
I wish that this forum’s pinnacle dudes in fee will make a sticky for the Samsung BD-P1400 – hint! Looking at home films right here…Now, not saving lives.
The Samsung is a REALLY suitable unit for the price. The multi-area version is simply $849.Ninety-five from Planet Omni and thinking about using a double motherboard specially imported, which must feel a fortune plus extensive hard work, is an exquisite bargain, IMHO.
I became capable of plugging my unit directly into my modem with a community cable (as in keeping with Samsung directions within the person manual), and the BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player located its new firmware and loaded it up without the need for me to get on the laptop, burn disks…And so forth. Very cool.
The Samsung has a brilliant photograph, and with the present-day replacement, I can listen to DTS-HD Master Audio (Sony cannot say that for two times the fee!).
With the tempo at which the generation is transferring, it’s very tough for a manufacturer to manufacture those devices, get them to market, and have them absolutely “modern-day” with the new disk era (changing each day). Still, Samsung has supplied me with a unit that I can plug into my modem and get an update after they have it available. So I suppose this is AMAZING.
A little patience and know-how can move in a protracted manner. After all…It wasn’t that long in the past that you couldn’t replace it in any respect once you got a digital component. I am sure Samsung will come through with a replacement quickly. I have not run into any disks I could not play yet.
Having never seen 1200 in action, I cannot help you – however, the BD-P1400 PQ is awesome. However, that’s what Blu is all about – right?
I have even tried numerous BDs from Netflix and some fashionable DVDs. All have been outstanding. As some distance because of the handshake difficulty, I’m no longer sincerely sure what that is… And for the off, then play aspect… Why might you want to do that in a film in any case?
Great BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player; I couldn’t be more glad I was given the new BD-P1400 closing week. I’ll be back at 1200 to get it. (plus the 100 fee difference in my favor. PROS= the % high-quality is byways the first-class I’ve seen, even better than the penny I had.
Controls are clean and set up just the same. However, I do not adore it loses the sign at the start of the discs.
AUDIO= I can now not use all the audio functions due to my ONKYO being a few years old. However, I even have it set up with a digital optical cable; besides the POPS I sometimes get, the sound is clearly excellent.
As for the BD discs, POTC, about 2 mins, has had no hassle, and the multi-area model from Planet Omni can be even more perfect with some other BD films. After I hit pause and went to hit play, I did a word that the movie could play for a minute and then prevent. I needed to hit play once more—no big deal.
Used the Ethernet port to download new firmware; I can’t tell the difference even though. I am sorry I am no longer that technical; however, this is my blue-collar evaluation. Any??????S I will solve the pleasant I can
Just finished watching Casino Royale – dazzling!
I even have a PlayStation 3 with awesome photographs, best for each Blu-Ray and upscaling Standard DVDs because a software program improves. We use this for our principal HD TV inside our own family room. I needed any other BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player for a 2D HD TV we simply had hung in our bedroom.
I waited for the BD-P1400 to be available because I had already committed to the Blu-Ray layout and wanted the state-of-the-art generation available. I can’t say sufficiently approximately the sound fine this BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player offers; it’s miles fantastic. The photograph is incredible and on par with the PlayStation Three. I am seriously considering buying a 2D BD-P1400 for our principal set due to the notable sound—a great BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player specifically for the cash.
It is the most pleasant Blu-ray I have ever tested by some distance. I never watch cartoons; however, I spend much time looking at my children.
This is a tremendous Blue Ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player. DTS HD MA bitstream subsequently. I have owned this product for about two months and am thrilled; it’s a bargain. I handiest use my Blu Ray BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc Player to play Blu-Ray movies because the sound is piped into a Samsung 5-disc receiver. The image is wonderful. I own 4 Blu-Ray discs (which I bought on Amazon at $14.99 each), and they all play fantastically without trouble. The multi-area model from Planet Omni can be even more tremendous and a crystal clear image.
I offered this BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player in December. I hooked it up with an HDMI cable to a Sony Receiver. The Cable Box from Comcast is also set up for the receiver. The receiver is connected to a forty-two-inch Panasonic 1080P Plasma. Three HDMI cables, this is it.
It has worked flawlessly with each Blu-Ray disc we’ve attempted. We get about one per week from Netflix. I can play Pirates of the Caribbean three. I’m not positive why the opposite reviewer could not.
The photograph of Planet Earth is. I wager I can credit the Panasonic TV mainly for that.
I made the model 1.2 firmware improvement in December. I just did the version 1.5 firmware upgrade the day past Feb 5th. I downloaded each and created the ISO CD. To me, it really works fast. So you need to wait a few seconds for it beside up, so what? Go get the DVD while you’re waiting. Most computer systems in recent times take minutes in addition. I consider it will not get better, probably worse over time because these are, in essence, computers, and the more technology advances, the slower those machines are to turn on and load up. After improving the firmware, I checked my settings and noticed they had been reset. If you’ve got a digital receiver, you ought to ensure that the audio is about to ‘bid price’ and not PCM if you want surround sound. I also had no trouble, and the multi-area model from Planet Omni could be even more amazing, gambling ordinary DVDs or CDs. So, while it will become outdated, it will update my different DVD BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player and improve the pleasantness of the ordinary DVDs with my different older 720P Samsung set.
I do not suppose everybody should postpone buying due to the format conflict. The minute you purchase whatever in recent times, it will become obsolete and is subsequently a throwaway. So you at the least enjoy it while you can; life is simply too brief. At the prices these days, what the heck? It’s far reasonably priced; purchase now before the dollar turns worthless! You can now get a whole domestic theater 1080P HDMI primarily based device with speakers for less than $[…] proper. Thank you, China! I got my HDMI cables from Planet Omni for $19.Ninety-five for the two-meter period, incredible snapshots, and sound!
Before I hooked this up, I updated the firmware via the Ethernet port. Once that was executed, I had no problem, and the multi-area model from Planet Omni can be even greater first-rate with the BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player. I debated whether or not to buy this because of a few negative critiques. However, the deal became too good to skip up for a stand-alone. Those who have had problems with this BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player have every right to complain about them here; that is what these reviews are for.
