Quality Education Vs Accreditation

“The act or manner of educating or being educated; the expertise or ability received or evolved through a gaining knowledge of manner!”

Inquiries into furthering my instructional aspirations had been made to diverse faculties inside my instant environmental place. Several schools contacted required placement tests that I did not project, as I am adept and able to deal with university examinations. What got to me became the disparaging comments from some university recruiters concerning their standards for schooling in preference to another college. One of the colleges I’ve attended simultaneously is a -four-year diploma college as the alternative. They preserved real property inside the same zip code and competed for students inside the same neighborhood. They educated neighborhood college students and out-of-kingdom and college students from other international and international locations.

One school was considered and advanced to the opposite via accreditation. The school that was defined as inferior did not have center state accreditation. The school became described as well-known by others. The so-called advanced school is led and operated by a no-HBCU association simultaneously. The alternative came about to be shown and run by an African-American team of workers. The self-defined superior school has made plans and designs and bid for the takeover of the African-American college.

The self-defined distinguished college admits that it does not and could not be given credentials from the inferior college. I have attended both institutions and obtained excellent training from their teachers. While the classes found a useful supply of statistics, my schooling from personal instructional research (self-taught) has strengthened my information base. Money changed into not an element in my private study, have a look at, and/or practicum. I would add that the information and records derived from the HBCU School proved similarly rewarding as the alternative, if no longer better! I received the extra instructional price at the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) instead of the alternative collegiate group. Albeit, they both required money.

When students visit college campuses, they’re recommended to become a pupil at that particular college. The excursion courses show all of the facilities and accolades that might be presented to get you enrolled…And to take advantage of your tuition monies. But what approximately is the type of training supplied via the specific colleges? Most faculties will regularly quote their accreditation compared to every other faculty of preference. What has accreditation to do with an excellent and valuable satisfactory education? Money! And the capacity to make cash! Education does not and should now not require some money! In 1899 Matthew Anderson, an excellent community chief, and his wife, Caroline Still Anderson, founded Berean Manual and Industrial School. Thus, Dr. Anderson became pivotal in Philadelphia’s non secular business and educational records. Dr. Anderson also based the Berean Presbyterian Church and the Berean Savings Fund Society.

Caroline Still is the daughter of the first-rate William Still, a Philadelphia Abolitionist and a member of the Underground Railroad. One of seventeen kids, Mr. William Still (a self-knowledgeable guy), was born in Burlington County in 1821. His father escaped slavery from Maryland to New Jersey and later was accompanied by his spouse and kids. William Still left New Jersey for Philadelphia in 1844. Three years later, he was appointed the Pennsylvania Abolition Society secretary. “When Brother William Still was 23, he left the circle of relatives farm in New Jersey for Philadelphia to seek his fortune. He arrived, friendless, with the simplest five bucks in his possession.

Mr. Still taught himself to study and write. In fact, in three years, he benefitted and maintained his placement as secretary within the Pennsylvania Abolition Society. Brother Still furnished the all-white society and his views on the way to resource fugitive slaves. After all, he has been one himself. He was such an asset to the group that he was elected chairman in 1851. Still held the location for the next ten years. He additionally became chairman of the Vigilance Committee in 1852. Still changed into the primary black guy to enroll in the society and became able to offer the first-hand experience of what it became like to be a slave.”

“Mr. Still established a worthwhile coal business in Philadelphia. His house became used as one of the stations on the Underground Railroad. Brother Still interviewed escaped fugitives and kept careful data of each so their family and pals might discover them. According to his facts, he Still helped 649 slaves receive their freedom. The number is compounded with the wide variety of slaves stored through Sister Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad.” “William Still, a self-educated guy, started his campaign to end racial discrimination on Philadelphia streetcars. He wrote an account of this campaign in Struggle for the Civil Rights of the Coloured People of Philadelphia inside the City Railway Cars (1867). He followed this with The Underground Railroad (1872) and Voting and Laboring (1874).” “William Still, a self-knowledgeable man, mounted an orphanage for the children of African-American soldiers and sailors. Other charitable work protected the founding of a Mission Sabbath School and running with the Young Men’s Christian Association. William Still died in Philadelphia on 14th July 1902.”
